📘 SolPlay Improv – Student Policies
🧡 Our Community
At SolPlay Improv, we believe improv works best in a supportive, respectful, and playful environment. Every student helps create that atmosphere. We ask everyone to bring kindness, generosity, and awareness to their participation.
We welcome students of all backgrounds. Students who need accommodations are encouraged to contact us before registering so we can support your experience.
SolPlay classes are designed for adults 18 years of age or older.
📝 Enrollment & Participation
SolPlay Improv retains the right to manage class enrollment and may remove or restrict a student from class (temporarily or permanently) at any time in order to protect the integrity and quality of the group experience.
While we don’t take this lightly, SolPlay reserves the right to make these decisions at its sole discretion.
If a student is removed for conduct-related reasons, tuition will be refunded in full.
📚 Code of Conduct
Respect the Space
Treat classrooms, equipment, and venues with care.
Leave spaces as you found them and dispose of trash properly.
Smoking or vaping should be done away from entrances and any shared gathering areas.
Respect the Time
Improv is ensemble work — being on time matters.
If you’ll be late or absent, notify your instructor ahead of time.
Missing three or more classes may affect advancement to the next level.
Respect Each Other
Improv is built on trust. Support your classmates and expect support in return.
Violence, harassment, hate speech, or disregard for physical/emotional boundaries will not be tolerated.
Please do not attend class under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Stay present and avoid distractions (no texting or side conversations during class).
Guests are not permitted to sit in on class sessions.
If you’re sick and contagious, please stay home.
🧭 If Issues Arise
SolPlay understands that mistakes happen. When they do:
Your instructor may check in with you privately to reset expectations.
If the behavior continues, SolPlay reserves the right to pause or remove you from class.
This doesn’t happen often in improv classes — but maintaining a constructive, respectful learning space is our priority.
🌍 Performances, Jams & Community Spaces
The values we practice in class extend to shows, jams, and community events. We ask that students:
Be kind and respectful toward all fellow students, instructors, and guests.
Avoid gossip, exclusion, or putting others down.
📸 Recordings & Performances
Participation in SolPlay classes may include a class showcase performance, which may be recorded.
You are not required to participate in a showcase. It has no bearing on your eligibility for future classes.
SolPlay may use photos or video clips of performances for promotional purposes.
If you would prefer not to have your photo used, just let us know — we’ll gladly honor your request.
By participating, you grant SolPlay Improv a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use class performance footage for promotional purposes in any media now known or developed in the future.
⚖️ Release of Liability
By registering for a SolPlay class, you acknowledge:
That participation in improvisational theater involves physical, emotional, and mental risk.
That you are voluntarily participating and will follow all class instructions and community expectations.
That you are not aware of any conditions that would increase your likelihood of personal injury or harm.
You release SolPlay Improv, its instructors, staff, students, and affiliates from any and all liability for injury, loss, or claims arising from your participation in any SolPlay-related activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
